Here you find the answers to frequently asked questions about visits at Baylab plastics.

1. How many groups can I register per semester?
Due to high demand, you can only register one group or class from your school per semester. This policy allows us to give as many schools and educational institutions the opportunity to spend a day at Baylab plastics and appreciate your understanding.

2. How may participants can attend a day at Baylab plastics?
The maximum number of persons, including teachers and chaperones, is 30. The program at Baylab plastics is highly teamwork-oriented. Groups that are too large are not conducive to cooperation, and they make it difficult for the students to reach the goals, which will withdraw their attention from the real-life setting of a company. The ideal size of a group is between 18 and 24 participants.

3. Do you also provide information about educational and professional opportunities at Bayer?
Yes, we do! Please indicate your interest on your registration. The day at Baylab plastics usually includes a tour of Bayer’s Communication Center. There is also the possibility of a one-hour information session on trainee and study programs at Bayer and our service provider Currenta.

4. How much in advance can I register?
Usually registration for the next school year starts after the Easter break. The dates are announced on our website.
We do make an exception for groups who must plan for an overnight stay, such as at a youth hostel. These groups are welcome to register in advance. Please include this information in your registration request.

5. Can we find out in advance what type of product will be produced on the day of our visit?
While we are not able to provide you with this information much in advance, we can let you know shortly before your visit. However, the type of product is not relevant for the success of your day at Baylab. Every group experiences the process from the idea to the finished product, and at the end of the day the students can take it home.

6. Should we as teachers divide the group into smaller groups before our visits?
Please don’t! The teams do not have to be equal in size. It is important that each student select his/her team because during the day at Baylab, as they are the ones who assume the responsibility for the success of their teamwork. For this reason it is crucial that the students are in a team where they want to be. If there are not enough members for a certain team, we show the students how we handle this type of situation at our company.

7. Can I also visit Baylab with my 8th graders?
If all students are 14 years old or older, you are welcome to visit us. We cannot make any exception from the minimum age requirement, which is based on the Chempark rules and the youth protection act. Visiting Baylab makes is especially valuable if it is part of the professional orientation at your school.
